Valtrex – this medication is taken in the dosage of 2 000 mg 2 times a day for 1 day only. You should wait for at least 12 hours to take the second dosage.
Conclusion: Famvir is only taken one time, which is obviously convenient but Valtrex is also very easy for the use as you will complete the entire treatment in one day.

Shingles:

Zovirax – this medication can be taken up to 10 days in the dosage of 800 mg 5 times a day.
Famvir – this medication is taken for 7 days in the dosage of 800 mg 3 times a day.

Conclusion: Valtrex is the same convenient in the use as Famvir.

Genital herpes:

Famvir – this medication is taken in the dosage of 1000 mg 2 times a day daily for one day
Valtrex – this medication is taken in the dosage of 1000 mg 2 times a day for 10 days.

Conclusion: As you can see, it is more convenient for use Valtrex than Zovirax, but less convenient than Famvir.
